Chapter 14

Lexi

After the fight at the Staple Center, I went on a two week, no Max vacation. There was so much I was going to have to do to get ready for the next part of our tour, and I needed a mental break. Max was making me feel a type of way and I hated how mixed up my emotions became.

Emma took a few days off of work to hang with me at the beach. We enjoyed our time together visiting the Venice Canals and laughed as we immersed into the world of tourists as we took a tour of the Warner Brothers Studio. The picture of us sitting on the iconic FRIENDS couch now hangs on my refrigerator in our shared apartment. I had lived right outside of Los Angeles my entire life, but had never truly enjoyed all this magical city had to offer.

When my vacation began, I found myself in a twisted ball of emotion. It was glorious to have my freedom and personal space again, but I found myself missing Max.

But, Max definitely wasn’t a boy.

He was all man.

All Glorious, chiseled, and a naughty man.

Sighing, I shake my head, taking a large gulp of my white wine. “I have no idea what’s going on,” I finally admit. “Max drives me insane. He is so stubborn and arrogant and a complete womanizer, but when he is near me, it’s like I forget how to breathe.”

Emma smiles, her green eyes shining brightly toward me. “It sounds to me that you like him,” she smirks.

Shaking my head, I almost choke on my wine. “No way. Sure, he is dreamy in a Greek God kind of way, but he is too much of a hot head bad boy for me,” I argue.

“Isn’t that what makes him so dreamy?” she asks, arching her eyebrows at me.

“No way. I don’t need to get mixed up with bad boys. Look at my mom,” I begin, but then stop myself.

I know in my heart and
